Are you an artist? Are you nostalgic? Have you ever dissociated or derealized without knowing the trigger? Submit an original work for the CfaER compilation/collaboration! The idea is this: Each artist submits a snippet of an orignal song made in the style of a genre they find nostalgic but haven't leaned heavily into. This snippet can be a verse, chorus, bridge, combination, anything, even a full song. For example I am making the verse of a 2nd wave emo song, and the verse and chorus of an Alanis Morrisette style pop song. Any AI submissions will be immediatly rejected. Once all the artists submit their snippet I will put them all into one track one after the other and play them through a radio in a room. Between each snippet I will put the radio out of tune to simulate the channel changing. This room would be mic'd and recorded, with the finished project put onto the Celebrating bandcamp. This will be pywyw with unlimited free streams on bandcamp. If anyone chooses to purchase the project, all money made will be donated to help provide humanitarian aid to displaced Sudanese refugees.
I reserve the right to reject submissions on the following citeria: hateful lyrics or themes, and audibly low effort writing and recording. (what I mean here is don't write and record your part in 10 minutes and think it's ready for submission, take your time, be thoughtful.)
This is an art project, as well as an experiment into dissociation triggers.
